HSEQ Manager

Job purpose:

 

The HSEQ Manager will report to the Operations Director and responsibilities include supporting the business to comply and improve systems and standards to become a global benchmark for HSEQ. Supporting the Directors and the Management Team to improve the Health and Safety, Environmental Management Systems and Quality Assurance up to and beyond the requirements of the appropriate international standards and customer expectations.

 

What you'll be doing:

 

The role:

  • Managing the development of HSEQ systems, processes and procedures to achieve full compliance to ISO 9001 and position the organisation for certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 in a manner
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing HSE and Quality procedures, developing new procedures as required
  • Develop and manage a QA and Compliance programme ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Develop a strong working relationship with all levels of employees and promote a culture of engagement and all together better across the Dorsuite Group
  • Monthly reporting to Directors and Management team on HSEQ and Factory issues, including both initiatives and areas for improvement/amendment
  • Monthly updates to staff regarding HSEQ and Compliance including NCR’s, customer issues and improvement plans
  • Promote awareness throughout the group to highlight customer satisfaction, process/procedure compliance and adherence to legislation
  • Responsible for managing the logging and interpretation of all HSEQ information, providing reporting and trend analysis as required
  • Development of client SOPs and detailed procedures, and communicating effectively to all involved employees
  • Review and develop a full Fire Risk Assessment for each site taking into consideration prevention and suppression systems.
  • Responsible for ensuring all internal processes are followed and complied with, developing an internal audit programme to ensure compliance
  • Managing onsite client QA audits and reporting findings to management
  • Working with team to develop relationships with vendors and suppliers, carrying out audits to ensure compliance
  • Provide internal training and coaching to operational teams in specific subject matters such as Risk Assessments, COSHH, RIDDOR, incident investigation, CDM
  • Being main point of contact for external audit by accreditation bodies, clients and others auditing the business
  • Keeping up to date with all quality and HSE legislation, communicating to employees as required
  • Regular travel to other locations within the UK
  • Any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with the role

Your background:

  • Our customer is looking for someone with strong manufacturing experience who has had several years experience working within a manufacturing facility and who holds Chartered Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
  • You will have the ability to engage and motivate production teams, experience with audits and training and has strong communication skills.
  • You will also hold a valid driving licence to travel between our sites within the UK.
  • Prior knowledge within the timber or door industry would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Also desirable, but not essential, is experience of implementing 5S and managing environmental permits under LAPPC.
